2022: The Year of the Bridal Separates | 9 Bridal Looks for your Wedding Day 2022
We have to say it, at Hayze we are LOVING the Bridal Separates trend. Fancy a day-to-night change-up, you're covered. Fancy flashing a little skin, this trend has your back.
Super versatile, you can feel free to mix and match your favourite designers and styles that suit you best. The ultimate in bridal comfort, style & chic.
There are countless combinations of separates that you can go for so we've picked some of the best with our tips on how to style them.
Let's start with the Queen of Bridal Separates. If you haven't heard of Catherine Deane yet, it is time to get to know. The brand has taken this trend and owned it, drawing from their signature whimsical style and revolutionizing the separates game.
1) The Wide Leg Pant
Designer: Catherine Deane
I mean, these deserve a round-of-applause. The nipped in waist with the billowy wide leg, giving all the bridal gown vibes mixed with the comfort of trousers.
And, we're all seeing it right? The pockets. A bride's dream come true.
2) The Wide Leg Pant, IN SILK
Designer: Catherine Deane
These are giving sexy PJ, bridal chic.
And if there's anything I'd like more on my wedding day (other than marrying the love of my life) it's to do it in PJs.
That soft drape down the front - can you imagine the walk down the aisle? Airy, light, like walking on clouds.
I wouldn't pair this with the top in the image, these deserve something more groundbreaking than a cami, but what a staple for your wedding outfit.
3) The Thigh-High Skirt
Designer: Catherine Deane
We saw the thigh-high slit first blaze Bridal Fashion Week in 2020, but after 2 years of postponements, we are grateful that the trend is finally getting its time down the aisle. This is such a simple adjustment that modernizes your entire bridal look and adds that flirtatious touch. And with the skirt version, we can have all the versatility of different top options to take you from day to night. Win, win.
4) The Long-Sleeved Topper
Designer: Catherine Deane
Now, this piece, really is the stand out piece for the entire collection for me. Maybe that's because my soul belongs to 1920 Gatsby America or maybe it's because of the delicate beadwork, thoughtful placement and perfect scalloped-trim around the waist.
Either way, this is it. This is the piece. It's a tricky one to style and Catherine Deane have opted for a nude bralette underneath, which, stylistically, works the best with this piece, however it depends how comfortable you are with flashing skin on your wedding day - entirely up to you as the Bride! You could put this piece with their Satin Bodice, but I really think the flash of skin under the scallop-edged trim is worth it. Luckily, the long sleeve adds a little extra cover-up for the day!
I'd pair this with the Satin Wide Leg Pant, slick the hair back and find a big pearl statement earring. Oof.
5) The Boho-Topper
Designer: Catherine Deane
It's safe to say the Boho trend is still thriving and this is such a lovely top to go with your boho-themed wedding day. I love the thicker design of this embroidery and the pairing with the thigh high skirt.
6) The Satin Bodice
Designer: Catherine Deane
As mentioned above, a simple piece like this is going to come in handy when styling your separates on your wedding day. This satin bodice has a lovely heart-shaped neckline and flattering boned bodice and allows you to mix and match with your favourite separates on the day.
A simple solution to separates; the satin bodice, a statement skirt and a long-sleeved topper for the ceremony. 3 pieces and 2 transformational looks.
Moving on from the Catherine Deane collection; lets talk Bridal Tux. It is the ultimate in laid-back bridal chic and there are some incredible options out there.
7) The Bridal Luxe Tux
Designer: Reformation
The wedding tux is a tricky thing - there are so many styles of tux depending on how well you'd like it to be fitted. This tux from Reformation is ticking so many boxes for me. I love the matching drape on the blazer and the trouser legs; the cut and the finish are beautiful.
For me, this tux has so many ways you can style it depending on the look you're going for. I'd pair with either the Anya topper listed above, to have that gorgeous embellished neckline poking out the top of the tux, or opt for a satin bodice and drape that blazer off your shoulders. Alternatively, this tux would look great with an exceptional piece of body jewellery underneath.
See what I mean - VER-SA-TILE. We love to see it.
8) The Bridal Fitted Tux
Designer: Zara
Another option for a Bridal tux, giving a more fitted option if the over-sized look isn't for you. Plus, with a lower price tag, this outfit gives you heaps of options with styling.
I'd pair this look with a real statement veil and gold jewellery.
9) The Bridal Mini Tux
Designer: Dolce & Gabbana
Chic le freak, this is such a flattering 3-piece suit. I love that each of these pieces can be worn again and again and again after the big day. The little peaks of skin under the lace gives a subtle flirt and the skirt length lets you show of your legs on the day.
In summary, we are swooooning over this trend and we think you should be too!
Which is your favourite look? Let me know in the comments!
